Tailbox was founded at MIT and is redefining how travelers explore the world—offering personalized, AI-powered recommendations and a gamified travel experience. We help users discover hidden stories, explore locations effortlessly, and make informed decisions about what to do next.

We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our growing team and help us redefine the UX and visual journey of Tailbox. If you’re passionate about creating intuitive, engaging, and visually stunning experiences, this is your chance to shape the future of travel tech.

Our app is available Apple Store. You are going to take the lead on our product app design. We are looking for a complete rebrand of the UX and design of our app, with the following main goals:

Simplify the User Journey

Streamline the app experience to reduce friction and focus on what users value most: discovering stories, exploring locations, and feeling guided.

Redesign onboarding & navigation to make the time-to-value as short as possible.

Modernize the Design

Refresh the visual identity with a clean, bold, and contemporary design that reflects the adventurous spirit of our brand.

Ensure a cohesive, polished look that resonates with younger, tech-savvy travelers.

Improve UX & Interactions

Redesign navigation & information hierarchy to make the app intuitive and effortless.

Enhance micro-interactions & animations to bring delight to the experience.

Ensure accessibility & inclusivity—everyone should be able to explore with Tailbox.

Drive Engagement & Retention

Optimize key moments of serendipity and delight—make every interaction feel rewarding.

You have 4+ years of experience in Product/UX/UI Design (preferably in consumer-facing or travel apps)

You think mobile-first—expert in designing iOS & Android apps with strong UI/UX foundations

You love solving complex UX challenges—simplifying user journeys and reducing friction

You have a strong visual eye—proficiency in Figma

You understand engagement & retention metrics—and how design impacts user behavior

You have a passion for travel & exploration—you get what makes adventure seekers tick!
